Welcome to the Colorado Housing Investment Fund

The Colorado Housing Investment Fund (CHIF) is focused on establishing a statewide housing investment fund with a dedicated and dependable source of public revenue to meet Colorado’s affordable housing challenges.

 

Housing Colorado, Interim Steering Committee Lead Renewed CHIF Effort

In February 2009, the CHIF Coalition Executive Committee voted to establish a new organizational structure for the Coalition, led by Housing Colorado and an Interim Steering Committee.  Jennifer Erixon of Mercy Housing Colorado continues to serve as Chair for the Interim Steering Committee along with:
    • Roy Alexander, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority
    • Stefka Fanchi, Habitat for Humanity of Colorado
    • Ken Hoagland, Community Capital Corporation
    • Don May, Colorado NAHRO
    • John Parvensky, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless
    • Jerene Petersen, Mile High United Way
    • Daniel Romero, Hunger for Justice
    • Alana Smart, Housing Colorado.

    One of the lessons learned through the 2008 petition drive was the need to engage a broad base of influential leaders – especially leaders outside the affordable housing community - who have the capacity to move the effort forward.  To engage and learn from these leaders, CHIFC is preparing to launch a series of interviews across the state starting in June.   This Leader-to-Leader represents a fresh start for CHIF by providing a means for involving business and civic leaders at the front end in planning a strategy that will succeed.

     Now is the Time to Recommit: The need for a housing investment fund in Colorado has not gone away, and neither have we   There are many ways you can help as we gear up for this next effort:

    • Make your tax deductible donation to CHIF today at https://www.housingcolorado.org//index.php?title=Donations and indicate in the notes field that it is for CHIF.  You can also send your check made out to Housing Colorado/CHIF to:  Housing Colorado, Suite 575, 225 East 16th Ave., Denver, CO 80203.  These contributions will be used exclusively for CHIF related activities.
